Let's dream big - here's to a community of midlife ADHD women
How do you get through perimenopause whilst also navigating ADHD? Equipped with the right knowledge and supported by each other we can not only survive but thrive in midlife. Let's do this!
Late diagnosis PLUS hormonal rollercoaster
If you’re a midlife women with ADHD chances are you weren’t diagnosed as a child. Most of us got our diagnosis (IF we even got one!) later in life - sometimes after our children were diagnosed, sometimes after we read an article that struck a chord and sometimes because we entered perimenopause and shit hit the fan.
#ADHD and #menopause
Both female ADHD and menopause are trending at the moment. Whilst I’m glad that women have finally made it onto the map I am not sure how I really feel about it. ADHD is not a trend and neither is the menopause. They are both going to hang around! And we deserve more than being a passing trend with a little bit of attention in the big newspapers. We need more research, we need more support and we need more compassion and community.
A midlife ADHD community
As a personal trainer and menopause transition coach who is also navigating perimenopause + ADHD I know a thing or two about the topic - but I’m really hoping that this substack is going to be so much more than an informative newsletter. When I close my eyes I see a community of supportive women, all lifting each other up. So let’s create a space where we can share our worries and our wisdom. Because between all of us, we have the answers.
What you’ll get
I will be writing with the latest news and tips about once per week. Since I have ADHD and my hormones are running crazy I won’t promise a specific day … you know what it’s like, right?! What I can promise though is informative, positive and really helpful content that will make your life a little bit easier. You’ll also be part of this new and exciting community of women who ‘get you’ and accept you as you are.
